GONE MISSING – The final journey of Old John

"Before disappearing, Jan Haas pored over the work of Rudolf Steiner and a book covering the massacres of the Guatemalan civil war. Infirm with severe lung disease, the stubborn American set off into the Guatemalan jungle to die. Six years later, the filmmaker, his cameraman and a local expert embark to follow the tracks Haas left behind. Exploration is the goal: On their way, which eventually leads them into the heart of darkness, they talk to strangers about life and death. The cinematic vignettes and the contemplative rhythm of the journey cast a unique light on the land and its people."
